Description

If you for eg. delete a record / page via the
list-/page-module or the tree .. it a pears
a dialog like:

This is a major mistake, what the Dialog contains ...
Mainly two quite important Informations are missing!

  • What will be deltete? (Page / Record Name & ID)
  • Where have the dialog came from? (Module name, eg: Tree, List, Page ...)

This has to be fixed in all Version where this Dialog is included!
Version 4.5x and also 4.6.

Who could fix that?

The most elegant way I have found to proceed with deletion is when you can un-do a delete action straight afterwards. No need of dialog box in this case and this way spares additional clicks furthermore.

I agree in the current context of TYPO3 v4, this will be more challenging to implement that!

This is a major mistake, what the Dialog contains ...

Just a matter of communication... Are we forced to use the work "major mistake" here? I would have called "two possible enhancements" ;)

Hy Fabien,

as done for the page-tree with a "timed undelete" is,
as you sad your self, the best way. But I fear this a "to"
huge step for TYPO3 v4 :)

It's one thing if you can delete a record, by failure, without
an info msg about it. But if you even GET a message with the
same result, this is a major mistake usability wise. Sorry :)

So .. that has to get fixed. At least for my point of view.
But if you think someone feels attacked by that, we could
call it for sure a marketing wise: "possible enhancement" :)

Sorry, misunderstood the context. Thought it was a direct reply to someone...

Mmm... I have tried with the lastest version of TYPO3 but still got the default dialog windows... Have I missed enabling a feature somewhere?

Next to that, if you consider the old dialog windows, what would be missing?

I think it should be no problem (but as it's a ExtJS thing, you would have to ask SteffenK or Stefan).

The message is coming from the Page Tree only, isn't it? I just can't reproduce.. there is an option to disable such popup messages, I just don't know, how it's called and can't find it. When I delete pages in the Page Tree with the context menu, they're directly deleted.

  • Target version changed from TYPO3 4.7 to TYPO3 6.0

Still a very important issue!

I can gave Look at that, if you kindly would provide a three step manual how to get the window.

Updated by Jens Hoffmann 11 months ago

Use the Page-Module or the context Menu of the Tree and delete something.
