I think the icon should communicate with more detail what happens.

  1. New Window
  2. Full screen
  3. Edit

The "new" Icon dousn't explain all 3 value.
At least I see, there is more we need to communicate.

Thanks for the improved icon Felix. Jens may be right about what the icon should say. Maybe your icon could be in a bigger container with an arrow pointing from the edit icon to the edge of the container.
