Description

Currently the Extension Manager in the backend of v4 shows 'insecure' extensions with a bold, red title and a tooltip which explains this status.
We need a design for extensions which have the status 'outdated'.

The meaning of 'outdated':
Outdated extensions are extensions which have not been updated for a very long time (before the release of the oldest branch of the v4 core which is still supported) or have a dependency on the v4 core which is outside the supported branches.

For which versions:
Initially this change will go in 4.7, but the release managers of 4.6 and 4.5 have already said that they like to see it backported to those branches too.

Time frame:
Extensions will be marked as 'outdated' in the beginning of August 2012. The changes in the Extension Manager must be included in releases before that date. It doesn't have to be done tomorrow, but "soonish" would be nice

Already discussed with Jens and by his request assigned to him.

As there is already a "new" Extension-Manager in the Building
process, we could close the Tickets for the old "New EM".

Cannot be closed: the change must go into older branches (which will not get the "new" EM) and there must be a similar feature for this "new" EM (of which I haven't seen anything yet).

We won't bring new features to the old-new extension manager...

It's not a new "feature". Once TER supports the status 'outdated' it's a bug that the old and current EM don't support this status. Besides, both the RMs of 4.5 and 4.6 have already agreed on this change. It was planned for 4.7, but the Usability Team hasn't created this "design" (a colour or font style) for this in the past 4 months despite promises to do this (this issue was only needed to have it on record).
Outdating extensions has been delayed by the typo3.org relaunch (which was postponed numerous times).

@Steffen: If you don't want this in 4.7 and veto it, then it will be the only version which won't support this status.

If the Usability Team insists on closing this issue, I will do the "design" myself.

The "New EM" will not be supported. Sorry.

Do not reopen this ticket, please.
