3.0.5 is not working the way 2.2.11 did!

Description
Up to ver. 2.2.11 it was possible to have "Standard Images" and "Standard Links". See Attachment: Screenshot. Thats was is and it worked.
In ver. 3.0.5 I get an error saying "No Content Element selected".
But I don' t want to have a CE Element or a Page.
Is it a BUG or a Feature?

I have the same error notice: ERROR - t3s_jslidernews: No content-element(s) selected!
The slider works fine till I did the update to 3.0.12.
But there are content elements included.
This is a multilanguage website. On standard language site (english) there is the loading image on the german site there ist the error.
