External url in TMENU

Description
page of type external url; generates wrong value in href attribute in TMENU. for eg: we have created http://www.typo3.org as value for external url field; then in FE the TMENU link will have hyper reference href="index.php?id=123" and not href="http://www.typo3.org", 123 is the page id.

This is not a bug, but how it was designed to work The link always points back to the installation itself, and then a redirect is done, This way it is possible to track click etc.
It might make sense to make it configurable, it is not an issue of TMENU though, but of the linkdata-handler in TYPO3.
Rejected for now, make a feature request (or even better: a patch) if you think it should be changed.
