Description

Unify all filters that are above tables.
Define a logic to arrange/sort and style the filter section.

I have to think about that for some more time.
Wanted to add this issue to get a common working ground.

My vision includes a collapsible filter section underneath the header but before the content.

Common elements are:

WHAT
  • search input of some kind
  • active/disable entries

WHEN
  • timeframe (from, till)

WHERE
  • depth select (pagetree)
  • specific table

HOW
  • extended/short/…thumbnails
  • list/tiles (?)
  • sorting
  • grouping

Relevance:
What, when, where, how.
From left to right/top down.

Generally:
I would remove the selection to limit the results and replace those with paginate widgets.
Preferable all time frames are unified into from-till date pickers.
In the long run it might be possible to move the language dropdown in the docheader into the filter section this way.

Questions:
- What do we do with the in page search field: move to filter section?
- Where shall the language filter (see page) be - also moved to filter section?
- What about the "hide hidden elements" checkbox and "extended view", dito "localization view"
- How shall a simple search with advanced filter be defined?

Side fact:
Alright, please also find the current layout for the filters of the new beuser module attached.
It would be desirable to have a solution before I hand the new module in as review.

Buuuut still tc_beuser is not the answer to the filters question :)

I will be patient until after the sprint.

The gray filter is merged now - no "real" style is included.
I would like to offer to create a patch for most filters before feature freeze if we manage to create a common logic.

Jens, could you create a style within the next few days?
