Hey Thomas,
check out the extension detail view. Indicating it as 90% done just in case you think something is missing or should be chaned.

Denis

I think the "Read the manual" link could be way more prominent (if a manual is available).

Thanks for your feedback. I would place (and as far as I understood Thomas thinks the same) the "Documentation" just as a separate tab - pretty prominent.

Looks great! I'd also implement the manual as a tab, that would make it quite prominent. The flatter button could go into the right column, too I think.

Hi Denis,
very nice!!
I am missing the info what is in the other tabs? I think the version history and (as you mentioned) the documentation should be in a seperate tab.
The text above the tabs looks good, but then we should not show it below the tabs again. We only have a short description and I think, above the tabs would be better. Below the tabs only the last upload comment should be shown.
What do you think?
There will be an additional tab with the comment section. :)

Hey Thomas,
I decided to leave the "lorem ipsum" in the tabs since I believe there will be anyway a discussion what to place there.
I would make it like: Description, Documentation, Screenshots, Comments.
Since we've been adding the new features and fields for our authors to make the extension repository more interesting and useful I would suggest to use a short description also, because:
-It's quite useful to be able to read about the extension in a short sentence without loading too deep into it's features etc. That's how they do it in Wordpress (which I got as a reference, btw) and I find it very useful for visitors.
-If we do it like you've suggested then without the image we a get a quite empty space above the tabs - only a "download" button. Keeping this case in mind the page should be completly re-designed I would say.
Actually, taking into consideration the existing extensions, maybe we can just cut and use the first sentences of the descriptions as short ones?
Let me know what you think.
Regards,
Denis

yep, why not.
Actually, at the beggining I wanted to place the social features like "g+", "twitter", together with the "flattr" in the right side, Thomas said we won't gonna use anything except "flattr" now.

Hi Denis,
okay, you're right about the description. The upper description field is always present and it could be the whole description text, not only the first sentence.
In future we can make the lower description field editable, so there can be more text with e.g. links?
What about a "standard" header image until the image will be editable? Any ideas?
I had this image for an example but it's maybe too boring.

Yep ok, as you wish. By cutting I just didn't want to make the short description overloaded - I think up to 3 lines would be prefect.

I would say the image field should be optional and it's ok to have the extension without it, like here http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/theme-check/ Otherwice we'll get a lot of entries with the same visual. Or what do you mean?

Okay,
let's do it with the complete description above the tabs and no standard image.
You prefer the grey tabs instead of the orange tabs?
I would build the new detail page today and commit it to latest.
So we have a look on it tomorrow...ok?

Yep, the orange tabcontainer was created for special cases like homepage, landing pages, etc...

Yes, sure, just buzz me in skype.

I'd actually not provide a default image, because then there's no "need" or incentive for users to set one. In the end what we want is individually designed project/extension pages. Also, just take a look at WP again, works w/o image, too.

+1 for the grey tabs, they're less bold and there's enough orange already...
