Description
After installation of Powermail and updating database, i created a sysfolder for powermail.
Then i tried to use it and received the message above.
In log i found this:
Core: Exception handler (WEB): Uncaught TYPO3 Exception: #1255069597: Encryption Key was empty! | Tx_Extbase_Security_Exception_InvalidArgumentForHashGeneration thrown in file somepathto/sysext/extbase/Classes/Security/Cryptography/HashService.php in line 49. Requested URL: http://someurlto/mod.php?M=web_PowermailM1&id=6
I started a google search but all issues with same meaning are old and solved on what i saw.
Typo3 4.6.10
PHP 5.3.5
Also installed EXT:
templavoila
tt_news
realurl
Thank you!

Ralf,
are you sure, the error is related to powermail?
Anyways, please do the following steps:- Update powermail to 2.0.2
- Go into the install tool and check if the encryption key is set correctly (you can also check the localconf.php of your TYPO3)
- Clear All Caches
- Check again

Hey Alex,
i'm sure - because typo3 worked well before. Just when i want to enter powermail it fails with the Error message above.
It seems that powermail expects an encryption key - and this wasn't set yet.
Now it's set and Powermail shows it's editors view.
May be you can check that in a installation without encryption Key?
Than you!
Kind Regards,
Ralf

Check if powermail shows an error if someone forgot (don't know that this is possible) to set the encryption key.

Fixed in Trunk - Ready for TER upload
If someone forget to set the encryption key, the optin encryption is not as secure but it should work
