Description

We are working on this projet for quite some time now, and the feed back is already quite satisfying.
But there are still some major tasks to tackle and with TYPO3 6.0 being release in October, we will get even more things to be done.

Therefor we had the idea to introduce sponsored development to get important features done and/or to fix major bugs.

In detail this means:

We are planning to have a code sprint of up to 9 days from Saturday 05.01.2013 until Sunday 13.01.2013 in the beautiful winter wonderland of the Upper Harz Mountains.
This code sprint should be just one part of a sponsored project phase that will end with a definite deadline Monday 31.01.2013
We are currently preparing a crowd funding project on startnext.de to get money for the actual development process, so that we don't have to use T3A money for that, since it might be necessary for more important things.
Additionally we have applied for a T3A budget to backup travel, lodging and food expenses during the code sprint. (Which is not granted yet)

Now it's up to you to think about the features you will be able to provide until deadline and about the amount of money you might need to get things done.
But keep in mind that usually all the work would have been on a voluntary base and the sponsoring is just meant to help you get your head free and keep on track while coding. We don't want to actually "buy" code, but to give you at least something, that will make it easier for you.

We won't pay any hourly wages but just fixed prices for features that will be delivered until deadline. This means: You should only send in proposals for jobs you will be able to finish. If you don't deliver in time, there will be reduced payment only. No exceptions, no excuses!
There will be seven places reserved for 9 days for the code sprint. So you should take this into account in case you are planning to apply for these as well.
If there should be more than seven applications, depending on your proposals we will pick seven people.
You don't have to participate in the code sprint to get sponsoring, but of course 9 days of dedicated work will be taken into account.

We will take your proposals to calculate the amount of money we will have to raise via crowd funding, so please be honest and do a realistic calculation.
If we manage to get this minimum amount of money, the startnext project will be successful and we will get the funding. Otherwise nobody will have to pay anything and the sponsoring phase won't happen. of course any money we will get in addition to the minimum amount, will be available as well.

But we will need your help in another way to be able to start the crowd funding: startnext will only start the actual funding phase, when we will be able to get at least 100 fans for this project. They don't have to pay anything, just register and get fans of the project. So maybe you can already start to inform your grid element fans so that we can get into the funding phase as fast as possible.

As soon as we have started the startnext project, I will let you know and post the link here.

So let's see if this works out.

Regarding the code sprint: You don't have to participate for the whole 9 days. But you should let us know the time frame, since we could share places between different persons then.

A link to the startnext-project would certainly help. I have been looking for it, but didn't find it! If you have it, please add it :-)

We are currently asking for coders to send their proposals.
Without this information there won't be a startnext project, since we need to know first how much money we have to collect.

So stay tuned, the link will be available as soon as the project is up and running. :-)

We finally made it and went live with our Startnext crowd funding project.

So please go to http://www.startnext.de/typo3-grid-elements-2-0, register and become a fan of the project.
It doesn't cost you anything but of course we highly appreciate any sponsoring in the upcomning funding phase.

We will only enter the funding phase, when we will have reached aminimum of 100 fans, so spread the word, invite your clients and friends.

And if you want to participate in the code sprint, we are still expecting your proposals for some paid development.
Find some of the features we want to implement in the "rewards" list of the startnext project.

Cheers

Joey
