Description

When you test a remote server with ping or http it can become very annoying to get an email notification every minute when the server is unreachable. Especially on "blind alarms" when a server is unreachable for a minute but up and running again a couple of moments later.

So it should be possible to configure Caretaker to send the notification only when a certain amount of errors occured (send email only after 5 ping tests failed in a row) on a per test basis.

  • Priority changed from Should have to Won't have this time

As we mentioned on t3con we are planning to add escalation strategies in a later step. Our current goal is adding features (tests) and finishing the frontend and backend.

If you have experience with escalation management in nagios or other systems your help would be appreciated.

We have the "advanced notifications" already, which should be the implementation of the initial "escalation" concept.
Not sure if it's finished or if s/o is using it, though.
