Description
i think the "missing key" to TYPO3 is a native project like SCOTTY
any news? i'm about to start new big project.. i was tempted by Drupal just for its native Taxonomy management!
but i think i could prefer to help develop SCOTTY instead...

Yeah, sorry for hijacking the ticket system for this,
but we really need such a system and I'm looking forward
participating and helping/using Scotty.
Any news?

Currently I am going to prepare a workshop for T3DD10 to discuss the preferrable concept for S.C.O.T.T.Y.
Of course you should not expect to have something up and running after T3DD10, but hopefully we will manage to agree on an overall road map and certain milestones.
Don't know if this workshop will be accepted though ...

you know, Jo, that a student applied for the Taxonomy project at Google Summer of Code?
see here:
http://socghop.appspot.com/gsoc/student_proposal/show/google/gsoc2010/sadananddandge/t127079409668
and some talking in the GSoC newsgroup!
i think it is very nice news, if we all support him!

I already saw that and applied as a mentor to make sure we will join forces instead of inventing two different wheels.
So let's see if both of us will finally be accepted ...
Maybe we can generate some additional sponsoring as well as soon as it will be an official GSOC project.
Two clients of us already invested a larger amount for the development of the tagpack. So chances are good that we'll find some sponsors for it's "successor" ...
And what about you joining the team, Stefano?

- Status changed from New to Needs Feedback
Unfortunately "global categories and taxonomy system for TYPO3" has not made it to the GSOC projects. This still leaves us the option to have a kickstarting workshop at T3DD10.
Is there anybody else of this team who will be there? Any people you know of, who would be valuable for this topic and should be a member of this team as well?
We will need lots of good ideas and even more (wo)manpower if we want to get this going on a voluntary base.

I will take part.

All I need to do is buy myself a ticket. I will be present as I think this is a very valuable thing.
In what way can we structure our thoughts in advance?

After all the S.C.O.T.T.Y. kick off will take place as a full day workshop at T3DD10. Anybody of this team, who will be there, please contact me as soon as possible, so that we can prepare some stuff to make this the start of a fruitful development phase.
