Description

I have added an editor to the website, i want this editor to edit all languages but the default language can't be stored in database. I check the default lang and save, but after reload i find it is still unchecked. In cause of that he can't edit content element or add new pages.

Please look at the screenshot and you will see the problem.

Hey,

I can't reproduce this issue on the current 8.6 release - but have you tried not limiting languages at all? If you want the editor to be able to edit all languages not selecting anything should work as well.

Susi

Hi,

Where not selecting no language, the editor can't edit also. For just a quick bad solution, i have added the language id directly on the database on the allowed_languages col.

Hi, about the checkboxes issue, I think that this issue is related #70812 or even the same

Using TYPO3 8.7.22, I performed the following test

1) Use a TYPO3 installation with

- default language (Italian)
- an alternate language (english)

2) Create an "editors" usergroup

- gave them full ACL on tables and fields
- Limit to languages: don't select anything
- set the home page as mount point

3) Create an "editor" user and assign it to "editors" group.

4) Create some pages and gave editor /editors as owner/group
5) Translate them and translate some content in it

6) switch user to "editor"

Results:

The editor has been able to

- edit an existing page in default language
- edit an existing page in alternate language
- edit existing content in default language
- edit existing content in alternate language
- add content to an existing page in default language
- translate it
- add a page in default language
- translate it
- add content to the newly created page in existing language
- translate it

Is there something that I am missing? Could you add a step-by-step guide about how to reproduce your problem? Thank you!

The "checkbox" part of this issue seem solved on 10.4.4-dev: I tested with

- three languages (Default, English, French
- both backend usergroup and backend user

and I edited the field [allowed_languages] : I was able to:

- select all checkboxes
- select no checkbox
- select only one checkboxes
- select only two checkboxes

On all tests the selection has been saved.

I still don't understand what is the standard behavior of [allowed_languages]

It seems that no checkboxes is equivalent to all checkboxes but is it correct?
