RFC: Content Elements / Plug-Ins - make "choose Plugin" searchable

Description
When creating a new Content Element / Plug-Ins in a TYPO3 instance with lots of plugins it can be quite bothersome to find a plug-in in the long dropdown list. Would be nice if it's searchable or at least grouped by ExtensionKey or so.
What do you think about it?

I like this idea, there are dozens of javascript libraries that could be useful, even JQuery-free like https://github.com/jshjohnson/Choices

Looks interesting and this particular lib would allow a new TCA type tags f.e. as well. But this is not part of this feature request. Unless there is an issue somewhere, a pre-task could be a good call at which a library is evaluated to allow more TCA field types.
