Description

It should be possible to add content on an empty site.
In version 1.3.0 (tested with ie8) you can create a new site but no content on it!

Hey Chris,
Just tested here with and without TemplaVoila (but in Firefox rather than IE) and I am able to add content to a blank page. Are you using TemplaVoila or not and does it make any difference if you go to Firefox instead of Safari?

One other thing that comes to mind is the way that initial content gets onto the page. You must drag a content element from the toolbar and this will reveal the drop area. Are you trying to add content in this way?

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

thx for the replay.

I´m using typo3 4.4.0 without TemplaVoila and testing with FF3 and IE8. Problem is: I don´t get an drop area. On sites with content the drop area appears allways under the content. When no content is on the site, no drop area appears. I reduced my template to one div with the content and a logout link, but still the same problem.

best regards,
Chris

I have the same issue:
When I try to drag the first element on the page (no TV) no drop zone appears.

(Adding content to the empty page using an edit panel with a new button works.)

This has already been dealt with in r1779; unfortunatelly it is still/again(?) broken.

I did some fixes recently and hope that I also fixed this problem.

Can you check, if it works for you with current trunk?

Hi!

I´ve loaded the current trunk, but still no chance to get content on an empty page... IE8/FF, both the same.
For testing i´ve used an old table-layout, could this cause problems?
Best regards
Chris

I think it must have to do with the template in some way. Might also be some wrap which you have added in your TS-Template. (In a setup I use, a wrap caused an issue with no edit panels appearing. Deleting the wrap fixed it.) But I don't know, what exactly might cause this. :-(

If you had the time, it would be great, if you could try to create a template with which it works correctly. Then modify it, so that it becomes more and more like the one you currently use (the one which does not work). You should test, what you have to change in order to cause the problem. I think that would help.

Also when I drag an element on a page, which already has elements on it, the top most drop zone is not there. So I cannot drop content in front of the existing content.
Might be the same problem we are talking about here...
Tested in FF.

To me it has been reported that this also does not seem to work with older versions of feeditadvanced.

Hi!

I´ve tested a bit, using a mininal template (Just something like

###CONTENTMARKER###, but the same thing happened: I can´t get content on an empty page.
I´ve there is content, i can´t put content above the top content (no drop zone there). Christopher mentioned this before.
I think its the same problem. I´ve no content -> there isnt a element to put content below. Above doesnt work -> so no content on an empty page.
I´ve testet with FF/IE8 using Typo3 4.4.4 (just an local installation) and version 1.4.0 (newest trunk)...
The screenshot shows the template and the dropzone below the existing element.
Best regards & happy new year!
Chris

Pushing this out to 1.5.1

I tested that using only a minimal template. On an empty page a drop zone appears on dragging a content element type.

There is one edge case where it still doesn't work: If you remove all contents from a page, you cannot add a new content before you reloaded the page.

Tested in Firefox and IE9. Please report if this issue is still valid.
