Bug #9080

Reloading submit response page generates a new db entry/mail

Description

When reloading the response page after submitting (by pressing F5 or using the browser reload button), the browser asks if you want to post the form data again. By confirming the form data is written a second/third/... time to the database and another confirmation mail is sent.

I doubt that anyone would send the exactly same form twice by using that. So I would say it's a bug.

Hey Lorenz,

yes you are right.
This could be a bug.

For a work-a-round, please use the redirection field in flexform ("Answer page" -> "Auto-redirect after confirmation-page").

This bug won`t be fixed in 1.5.6, because this will change a default behaviour.
We will fix this bug in later versions (major releases).

Do you agree with this?

I totally agree that fixing this will be a major change. Powermails needs to be able to decide if a second post is an intended or an unintended duplicate. ATM I don't know how to achieve that. Maybe you could set it to Powermail 1.6, then we won't forget it.
