Description

It would be cool if the original position of an content element would be visible while a user starts to drag the element around. That would provide a better UX for him to stop drag and drop by dropping the element on its original position.

Right now one needs to now how to cancel or where to drop an element once you started to drag an content element by accident or decide to not drag it somewhere else.

Currently, when the element is dragged, it is displayed slightly greyed out again at its original position. The editor can therefore already recognise where the element was originally located.
If they release the element without hitting an active green area, the element jumps back to its original position.
I find the current UX here just sufficient to provide the requested information.

What do you think?

Sorry for the late response. Yes current TYPO3 v12.4 got this properly fixed. Thanks for your passion. I'll close the issue :)
