Remote Survey Project

I was recently made aware of the existence of the Caretaker project:

and finally had time to test it a couple of weeks ago. While the aims of the Caretaker project are not exactly the same as those of the Remote Survey's, they are very close and there's no reason for duplicate projects to exist. The Caretaker team made much more progress than we ever did, including on such basic, but essential bricks as secure communication between the master installation and the surveyed installations.

On this foundation it is perfectly possible to reach the goals of the Remote Survey project, like having a complete list of extensions for each surveyed installation. As far as I'm concerned, I see no point in continuing development of Remote Survey and I encourage you to try out Caretaker and add your forces to that project if you feel like it.
