In the Strategy section of this link: https://typo3.org/news/article/typo3-inc-public-feedback-needed/
it is mentioned that the board of the TYPO3 Association shall be reduced because of efficiency reasons.

Does this mean the TYPO3 Association gets less democratic in general?
Will the general direction only be determined by the TYPO3 Inc. officials?

Hi Florian

Does this mean the TYPO3 Association gets less democratic in general?
No, not at all. The reduction of the board is really about gaining more efficiency. The democratic approach, the transparency approach shall remain untouched or even improved. The reduction of team members is really about efficiency as we have found it hard in some occasions to involve everybody from the board in decisions and discussions when it was time critical. We hope that a group of four can be faster and more dedicated to the tasks that are assigned to them.

Will the general direction only be determined by the TYPO3 Inc. officials?
No, it will not at all be determined by the TYPO3 Inc. management. Management is here to manage day-to-day operations. The highest body, still, will be the General Assembly of the TYPO3 Association. Any change in strategic direction needs to be approved by a General Assembly. It's important that we understand that the TYPO3 Inc. is a 100% subsidiary of the TYPO3 Association and must be seen as it's operational leg. Anything that the Inc. will do, will be 100% in line with the TYPO3 Association.
