Description
The search in the page tree would be more user-friendly if, on the one hand, the entry could be deleted again with just one click of the mouse (e.g. by displaying a small "X" on the right-hand side, which you click on to load the standard view). On the other hand, it would also be practical if entire URLs could be copied in and the search would then find the corresponding page. With large page trees and complex structures, it is sometimes difficult to find the page using just a front-end URL.

I think this is a great idea. I created a "proof of concept" feature idea for that, maybe you are able to test the patch. It needs a lot of refinement, but I'm positive we can get this in to v14.
About the "clearing search result": TYPO3 v13 already uses "type='search'" for the input, which Chrome-based browsers already extend with an "X" button. Firefox should hopefully catch up on this soon, too.
