Description
The question of which mode you are running TYPO3 in is fundamental for new Developers to understand the project structure and on how to extend and Deploy the project.
Currently the Composer mode is only displayed in the Extension Manager which is not accessible from the Install Tool.
If you are experienced you can look at weather automatic update is possible or not and you can usually guess from the directory structure.
However all of these "signs" are confusing for new developers, expecially if taking over a project they did not install.
I would suggest to add the information in the Enviroment overview as drafted in the screenshot
