Major Feature #5913
Provide a tt_news commenting interface
Providing an interface to the tt_news extension in order to use the mm_forum extension for commenting has often been requested.
Maybe we should think about outsourcing features like this into external extensions (I have registered the extension key mm_forum_news, just in case), in order to prevent overloading of the original mm_forum extension.
In fact, I have already developed an implementation of this feature, it is however not production-ready. I will commit it to the repository for testing in the next few days.

I adjusted the mm_forum_news last year and also wrote an extension page2forum. Both extensions creates a new forum topic for each page / news article. It also provides with the fe plugin a view for showing the last x (adjustable) posts of the topic. It uses the mm_forum HTML template files for styling and on top of that it shows buttons for adding an post (if logged in) and a button for visiting the forum post.
I didn't released it until now, because I have some problem generating RealURL links from the backend (at the moment I look at the realURL table, which is a very very dirty solution), but I will try the new version of the extension pagepath.
I prefer these feature (posts for tt_news and regular pages) as an extension.
What do you think? We can also talk by email.

This functionality will be "outsourced" into an own extension mm_forum_comments which will be organized in an independent Forge project maintained by Hauke. So this issue will be closed, all further organisation will be done there.
