Bug #64457
closedSetting the BE-User language via list -> be-user -> language does not work
0%
Description
Normally I set the language of a backend-user via
LIST => Choose a Backend-user and edit the record and choose his language (see image No. 1)
I gave him the language "French" e.g. - but, login with the BE-users name, the language is still English!?
To change the BE-users language you have to go via "User settings" (Admin!) => "Admin functions" and choose the be-user (see image No. 2)
Go to "Personal Data" and set the wanted language and save.
Now the be-user is able to work in his language, regardless of the language-data-entry in the be-users properties via Web->List!

You misunderstood how this is subject to work.
In the be_user record (via List module or BE Users module) one configures the "default language" of a user.
That means, whenever a user does not have stored configuration data (either because it's a new user, or you cleared the data via User Settings), this language is chosen for BE and stored into the configuration data (technically the BE_USER->uc array).
Once the language is stored there, the user or an admin may change the current language in the User Settings dialog.
