Compatibility with TYPO3 7
Fatal error: Call to a member function modAccess() on a non-object in .../typo3conf/ext/phpmyadmin/modsub/index.php on line 229
if you could move this extension to git.typo3.org, i would even provide a patch ;)

works but is also broken:
in the footer of the tables listing i get the following error:
Notice in .\libraries\session.inc.php#101 A session had already been started - ignoring session_start() Backtrace .\libraries\session.inc.php#101: session_start() .\libraries\common.inc.php#349: require(.\libraries\session.inc.php) .\navigation.php#10: require_once(.\libraries\common.inc.php)

»People« use Github and Forge-SVN and Forge-Git ;-) And »people« update all Repositories regularly. A Forge-SVN repository is not »one-click-converted« to Git, it's some work for the TYPO3 Forge Admins. Since I wanted to get the beta release out I choose to publish to Github first since SVN simply sucks at the workflows...
And regarding the header: Due to a Forge bug I'm not able to change the content of the header info, therefore I could not put the proper link inside ;-)
And regarding the session bug: That's a known issue (and therefore the release has been tagged as 5.0.0 beta1).

i thought they have written a script that automates that so that it's really just a script call?

And regarding the header
ok. also noticed it.
And regarding the session bug
ok. is this in phpmyadmin itself or has this do to with the typo3 session handling?
PS: please don't be offended by my previous post. I'm sorry for my rough words.
