Description

After fresh install of 7.6.0 I got an error message instead of a backend login screen:

"Missing file sysext/t3editor/ext_tables.php"

I could verifiy that the message was true.

After creation of an empty ext_tables.php file the backend login worked fine.

On a fresh installation (not an upgrade) that message should not occur. After an upgrade the message appears because that file was removed as it isn't required anymore by the Core, so there is an invalid cache.

Can you please describe how you installed TYPO3? tar.gz package / composer etc.

Sorry, you are right, it was an update via SSH login.

As we were advised to do the db compare before the cache clearing the user needs to login in to do that - and cannot because of the missing file.

imho not a core issue.

note: it is still possible to call the install tool standalone, no BE login required. this is useful especially while upgrading: domain.tld/typo3/sysext/install/Start/Install.php
