Suggestion #86863
Roadmap or schedule for 9.5 compatibility
0%
Description
There are many things going wrong with gridelements in TYPO3 9LTS. It simply cannot run. The Notes section in the documentation doesn't solve it.
Installing it now as it is:- the content menu does not appear
- drag&drop is not working
- copy/cut & paste (move) is not working
I have tried to fix some of this for the time being, but it's too much, and the workarounds are not easy for editors.
However, if there's a roadmap or schedule, people can decide to continue or quit gridelements.

- Category set to CMS 9 Refactoring
- Status changed from New to Needs Feedback
- Priority changed from Must have to Could have
Since there has not been too much support for Gridelements before CMS 9 came out and only a few sponsors and contributors became active just recently, there currently is no road map or schedule.
We are providing a closed beta on Gitlab for contributors and sponsors though, that will be published as soon as it is production ready.
So if you want to continue with Gridelements instead of quitting it, it might be a good idea to contribute one or the other way (code, feedback, testing, documentation or financial support), so we can add you to the member list. Even for financial support there are several options: https://docs.typo3.org/typo3cms/extensions/gridelements/Chapters/Sponsoring/Index.html

Hallo!
First off, thank you for your hard work on Gridelements over the years! I forked the github-repo and made some rough fixes which at least enables the extension to run in Typo3 v.9. https://github.com/JarvisH/gridelements/commits/master
So far I have only tested the basics (Backend only), but the following seems to work:
- DragDrop
- New Content Elements inside Grids
- Translations
What doesn't work:
- New Content Element DraginWizard (not sure this is even needed anymore? I simply removed the file-contents entirely)
- Nested Elements in List-View
These fixes are by no means meant to be permanent, as I do not have a deep enough understanding of the extension as a whole. The Typo3 core also seems to be at a strange place right now, where certain JS-Files are compiled with Typescript and others are not. Fx. the '/typo3/sysext/backend/Resources/Public/JavaScript/LayoutModule/Paste.js' module is still standard JS, but in the near future this will also be converted to Typescript, which again may mean errors in Gridelements (see https://review.typo3.org/#/c/56280/)
To be aligned with the core, perhaps the gridelements JS-files will also need to be rewritten in Typescript?
Anyway, if you can use any of my fixes, please do!
Thanks!

Hi Jesper.
Thank you for your contributions.
It seems you should join the team for the mentioned beta version - so if you send us your Gitlab.com user name we can add you to the member list.
This way we don't have too many different repositories to be taken care of and you can get something back in return for your efforts.

Hi "Coders Care Extension Team" and Jasper,
first i will also say thank you for your efforts and great work on gridelements. I think gridelements is a important and common used extension in the typo3 community. For us it would also be important that the extension will be compatible with typo3 9 and will be supported in the future. We will support you by donate on patreon and I hope that the typo3 community will help and support you.
Thanks and all the best,
Harald

@Harald Current state is the same as described before:

If you already managed to donate on patreon, we can put you on the member list.
