Opinion poll: Roadmap for evolution of devlog
The devlog extension has reached a point where one can consider that most of the obvious options have been implemented. New feature requests have come in and raise the question of where future developments should go, what kind of features should this extension encompass.
Example: one feature request would add a debug function that would direct debug output to the devlog. Another request would be to write to a log file on top of the database.
Including all this in the devlog extension would have the advantage of making it a one-stop shop for all your debugging needs (nearly :-). The disadvantage is feature overload, of course: having a single piece of software making too much stuff. So the other approach is to be more modular. This is already the case: there's a separate extension for writing to a log file. The disadvantage is that some settings may exist as duplicates between several extensions. Also it is more work to install several extensions than being able to have a kind of "debug bundle".
So I would gladly have your opinion. If you use devlog and have an interest in it, what direction you would want it to take in the future?
