After two nights of moving and renaming files, introducing namespace and use statement the extension is now ready to be used with 6.2.
Hopefully there were no bugs introduced. The ressources folder is left as is and has still to get changed to the new 6.2 extension layout. Everything else is as usual and the plugin configuration is still downwards compatible. So there should be no issues when you upgrade your TYPO3 instance to 6.2 and upgrade kb_display.
The plugin itself is not downwards compatible to versions of TYPO3 lower than 6.2. At least this has not been tested. The reason for this is that the new refactored TYPO3 core class names are already used everywhere (like "GeneralUtility" instead of "t3lib_div").
Of course you will also need an actual 6.2 compatible version of smarty - but there is some possibility the extension will use (support) the fluid templating engine in not so far future.
The new version will soon get released to TER if it has been toroughly tested.
