Using kb_kickstarter you can create database-records which define a table structure for you. You simply create a "Table" record, and some "Field" records, put them together by assigning some fields to an table, and then generating the files required for TYPO3 to handle the tables you defined.
When you have created all necessary records, you simply use a BE-module of kb_kickstarter, to creat the "tca.php", "ext_tables.php", "ext_tables.sql", and associated locallang files for the tables you created to the actual state.
So more or less you define the structure of a database table, by creating records in two database tables ;) I'll hope you understand what this means. If you don't, just have a look at the kb_kickstarter wiki.
