Description
My wish is a switch to select the output of external URLs.
It's odd to overwrite the menu functions with own typo script.
Switch between the output of:
http://my.typo3.com/nav/externalpage.html (with realurl ;-)
or
http://externalpage.com/
Maybe with:
xxx.1.NO.showExternal = 1

As this report is very old, is the handling in newer TYPO3 CMS Versions (like 6.0/6.1) more like you expect it?

Such a property does not exists for MENU CObjects (and I guess it should not be placed after .NO. ...)
as Georg Ringer pointed out, this goal can be achieved via some lines of Typoscript,
so IMHO this issue can be rejected and closed
