allowclipboard helper installation doesn't work on localhost

Description
If I want to paste something from the clipboard with the little button in my local TYPO3 4.5-testing (rtehtmlarea 2.1.5, firefox 3.6.13 for Mac) a warning pops up that i have to install the allowclipboard-addon. i've done that (vs. 1.0.1), restarted the browser, emptied cache, cookies etc. but the warning pops up again. if i install the addon again, it remains the same.
No tab is being displayed beneath the RTE.
On the server the installation works.

If you go to Tools -> Allow Clipboard Helper, does localhost appear in the list of allowed servers? If you add localhost to the list manually, are than able to paste on localhost?

When installing the Addon from localhost, do you get a TYPO3 notification window reporting success or failure of the installation?

I have the german version on a Mac-Firefox. If add localhost or / and localhost/mysite with or without "/" at the end and klick on OK, Firefox restarts. The addresses have been saved. After that, if I press the Paste-Button, a "Firefox Add-on AllowClipboard Helper"-Warning appears:
"Aus Sicherheitsgründen dürfen unprivilegierte Applikationen nicht auf die Zwischenablage zugreifen. Klicken Sie auf OK, um eine Komponente zu installieren, die Programmen dieser TYPO3-Site erlaubt, auf die Zwischenablage zuzugreifen. Klicken Sie auf OK, um eine Komponente zu installieren, die Programmen dieser TYPO3-Site erlaubt, auf die Zwischenablage zuzugreifen und Kopieren, Ausschneiden und Einfügen zu verwenden."
If I say "Nein", nothing happens. If I say "Ja", I have to allow Firefox to install Software on my Computer. Then a message pops up, that AllowClipboard Helper is not verified by the Author. If I install the Add-on, I have to restart the browser.
After that TYPO3 doesn't give me any notification if the installation was successful or not. If I want to paste something, the procedure begins again..

this issue is very old, does it still exists with newer versions of TYPO3 CMS (4.5 or 6.1)?

Yes, this bug still exists on TYPO3 4.5.3 and using Firefox 22.0

Can you try a newer Version of TYPO3 CMS 4.5? The latest one is 4.5.28.
