When I configure a maxitems property it does not behave like expected.

Let's say maxitems is 1, and 1 value is selected already. Expected behaviour: you've to unselect the item before you can select a new one. The behaviour is: you can only unselect the item, and can't do anything else.

Let's say maxitems is 2, and 1 value is selected already: Expected behaviour, you can select a new item and have to unselect one before you can select another. Actual behaviour: you can unselect the current value, and select one new value. After that no selection is possible anymore.

It seems the counter is not reset after deselecting an item.

Steffen Kamper already has a fix ready, which is verified to work...
