Bug #64934

Wrong "latest" version

Added by Thomas Löffler over 4 years ago. Updated about 2 years ago.

Should have
Target version:
Start date:
Due date:
% Done:

I always get the latest version of 6.2 by the command "wget get.typo3.org/6.2", but I tried it today and got the version 6.2.10rc1 instead of 6.2.9.
On typo3.org the latest version is still 6.2.9.

Xavier changed the behaviour and asked for feedback. Please talk to him if you disagree about the change.

I also was expecting it to always return the latest stable version. That is especially useful for automated update routines where you don't know the exact patch version number beforehand. When reverting this behaviour it would also be in sync with the TYPO3 download section again, where the latest downloadable version is the stable 6.2.9.

I will prepare the final 6.2.10 release this week. I don't think we will have 6.2 rc's anymore in the future, so this shouldn't be a problem anymore.

Ok, thanks!

Closing this ticket since it resolved automatically. Hopefully we won't have that much RC's anymore but at the same time RC's are considered production ready (or wouldn't be RC) and are released in the hope that they will be used by some people so it's not strictly speaking a bug.

People willing to stick to a specific version may do that by specifying it after looking at download section on typo3.org for instance.

Thanks for your understanding.
