When you enable the RTE on a text field in the TCA with 'defaultExtras' => 'richtext:rte_transform[mode=ts_css]' and put this field in a palette (without any further configuration), the RTE displays fine, but the configuration (in this example rte_transform[mode=ts_css]) is not geting applied.
I discovered this when I used palettes to create tabs (--div--) in my datasets. I did not test what happens if one uses palettes but no tabbing, but using --div-- directly in ['types']['showitem'] does not trigger this bug. So I assume it is related to the palettes in general and not related to the backend styling.
I found it on 7.6.9, but it's likely that this happens also in earlier versions.
