In large installations managing increasing amounts of redirects quickly becomes a bit cumbersome. While the current backend editor for sys_redirects allows to filter by site it would be great if redirects could be grouped into organizational units with regard to the redirect's purpose (e.g. "short URL", "SEO-/CMS-migration-related redirect", "renamed page slug" ... and so on). Or maybe your site is divided into several parts whose redirects you could group together with such a mechanism. That way, editors can quickly judge why a certain redirect has been placed and can focus better on the records of interest.

Technically, the whole process only happens in TYPO3's backend and can IMHO be modeled just as with scheduler tasks and task groups without the need to modify the redirect middleware's behavior.
