Description
I am installing typo3 for the first time and can't work out what the problem is. Everything seems to be OK. Install script reports no errors with DB.
If I then go to the Backend log in page I can't log in. Further the database seems to be working fine. The Install Tool can access the database OK
Existing and running webserver environment:
Win 2000
IIS 5.0 Win32
PHP 4.4.2
MySQL 5.0.
Tried TYPO3 versions:
DummyPackage 3.8.1
QuickStart 3.8.1
and also testsite package. in every case it outputs "Your login attempt did not succeed. Make sure to spell your username and password correctly, including upper/lowercase characters."
but the data is there within the database and I tried out many times to login. only failures. Cookies and javascript is set. They are working. In forum , found that there may be problems with mysql 5. then set the sql-mode = mysql4 , then also it is not working.
It is really frustrating as this case not mentioned in any of the documents downloaded and listed and also are going on and on . Please help , I need this urgently.

It seems that no matter how many times I try to set an admin user, no entry is being inserted into the user tables (be_users, fe_users).
Hope that helps, and yes would be great to have this fixed :)
I can't get any install of typo to work at the moment.

hi,
is there a workaround at all while waiting for this fix?
has anyone been able to use the typo3 admin interface at all for the latest release?

It seems that this report hasn't been solved yet?
The case has been known since November in 2005..
