Bug #18496
closedInstall Typo3 in root
0%
Description
I've got an question about installing Typo3 in the root.
Because normally you have 2 maps:
1. The source of typo3
and
2. The Dummy map.
But i want to have everything in my root, because all visitors will see mysite.com/site
And i want the normale URL without /site.
I heard somebody saying that you can do in with creating new symlinks.
But i never worked with symlinks. So i don't know where to start and GOOGLE is not helping me either..
Is there an installion package where with is standard?
I saw at the packages by Typo3 that there is an .zip named: Source + Dummy. Is that the one? If that is, i've another problem.
I can't login width SSH, and wiith ftp it is not alowed to unzip things.
And my filemanager ( with DirectAdmin panel ) i only can UnTarGz.
I can't believe this isn't possible in Typo3 wihout changing symlinks...

Whoa.. thanks.. i try'd it..
And it's perfect indeed..
The only thing is that DirectAdmin ( Admin panel ) won't extract Zip files..
Is there an tar.gz file too?
Now i extract it on my mac en made an tar.gz file by myself.
But it will be easier when i can download an tar.gz from de typo3 site.
Is that possible?

yea i know..
But the Source with the dummy is only in .zip
Stable version:
4.1.6: Source tar.gz | Source ZIP | Source with Dummy site ZIP
The source standalone is tar.gz
But the source and dummy is in Zip
And that one i can't extract in the DirectAdmin ( admin panel )

you can do following:
- extract source in root
- extract dummy in root (overwrite duplicates)
or take the zip and convert it to tar.gz on your local computer.
