Tool>Log date fields does not work

Description

After upgrading to 4.3.0 I noticed that the Tools>Log extension had been changed.

The old dropdown for selecting timespan of the log was gone and replaced by two input boxes. The two boxes doesn't have a date selector which is bad.

The worst problem is that the data is sent on focus change. So when I write 2009-10-10 in the first input box and change focus to the next the page is reloaded and my input is gone.

In effect this render the plugin totally useless because I can only view the last day.

The two boxes doesn't have a date selector.

Add a date picker; the idea is great!

the complete date entry is very unlucky. I try to correct this.

Here is a patch that allows real userdefined date entry also supported with datepicker
