It seems the function to display a preview image of the video does not work, first screen stays black when this option is set to on.
Happens in 4.5.19 and 4.7.1
Or is this not what this function is supposed to do?

The effect of the preview param depends on the used video rendering (flowplayer,swf,qt,embed) and is passed to the player.
Did a quick search but looks like the preview param isn't supported by the players that are default in the core of TYPO3.
Maybe if you use an extended version of flowplayer the option can be used.
