Bug #15143
closedBE footer fram sometimes disappears
0%
Description
When I work in the BE, the footer frame (the bottom fram containing "edit page ID" etc.) sometimes disappers. It can be brought back by a browser window resize.
I haven't been able to find out what triggers this, though. But it happens every now and then for me.

I now have found out what triggers this:
1. Open Firefox and maximize it.
2. Open the BE.
3. Press CTRL+T to create another tab.
4. Go back to the first tab.
Expected result:
The bottom frame should still be there.
Actual result:
The bottom frame is gone (but will be there again after changing the browser windows size).

Hmm, I cannot reproduce this here.
Strange...

My setup: Kubuntu 5.10, Firefox 1.0.7, Typo3 3.8.1.
This happens with maximized windows as well as with resized windows.
Sebastian, what is your setup? Maybe this is an OS- or browser-specific problem.

I can confirm that with Firefox (WinXP, Firefox 1.0.7). The search bar (CTRL-F) at the bottom hides this frame too sometimes.
But this happens only if you open a new tab for the first time (switch from no-tabbed-browsing to tabbed-browsing).

Hi,
interesting problem... I think it might be that it is just "shifted" out of the view window of the browser... However, I don't have a solution for this at the moment - this looks much more like a Firefox problem, doesn't it?

This indeed seems to be a bug in Firefox which is fixed in the now released version 1.5.
So I propose resolving this bug as "no change required".

I resolved it as Oliver proposed.
