When using the "Retrieve/Update" button in the Extension Manager, TYPO3 might show "The extension has not changed remotely, it has thus not been fetched".

I think adding the word "list" or "repository" makes this message more clear:

"The extension repository has not changed remotely, it has thus not been fetched".

or

"The extensions list has not changed remotely, it has thus not been fetched".

Details:

The current message made me think that TYPO3 was using the (empty) value from the "List or look up extensions" box just above that button. Only after I realized that I invoked the "Check for TER2 updates" extension just seconds before hitting the "Retrieve/Update" button, I understood that it was just the message that was fooling me.

To repeat the behavior:
- Delete typo3temp/extensions.bin and extensions.xml.gz
- Click "Retrieve/Update"
- "The extensions list has been updated and now contains 1452 extension entries"
- Use the browser's Back button to go back to the previous page
- Click "Retrieve/Update" again
- "The extension has not changed remotely, it has thus not been fetched"
