After some further investigation I can add: the error messages appear only if search results were found.
There are always two messages concerning the makepointerselector_link() function, regardless of the number of results and their domain records.

This problem may now be marked as resolved. It was a conflict between the ch_is_templates 1.1.12 extension and indexed_search 2.9.0. After uninstalling ch_is_templates the error messages disappeared.

It turned out to be a conflict with the extension "ch_is_templates" which is not needed with TYPO3 4.0 anymore...
