Description

When selecting the option "Modify Link" for a link in the RTE and try to set the value of the "title" for the link it isn't saved after i clicking the "update" button.
I haved tried this value to change with Firefox and it works.
First time i noticed this problem was in 4.0RC1 but the problem also exists in 4.0RC2

I am not able to reproduce this problem. Please make sure to clear the browser cache.

If the problem persists, please detail:
1. what is the default configuration being used, any additional setting in Page TS Config;
2. is the the title set in the editor after the popup window is closed? if not, does IE report any error?
3. If the the title is set, but lost after saving, please detail all proc options set in Page TSConfig.

The problem is not a result of the browser cache because the cache is off.

I used the package "dummy-4.0rc2.zip" and "typo3_src-4.0rc2.zip", running on Apache 2.0.55 and PHP 4.4 on a WinXP but i have the same problem when running typo3 on an SUSE 10.0 with Apache 2.0.54 and PHP 4.4.

1. I've configured nothing, i used only the dummy package and doesn't use any Page TS Config;

2. If i click the "update" button the window is closed, when i open it again the value is not set. i've got no error reported by the IE;

3. the textarea for Page TSConfig is blank.

annotation:
i guess the problem is a result of javascript used to set the value of the title in the Modify Popup-Window

How do you set the IE browser cache off?

Please clear the browser cache (delete all files) and set the cache to Automatic.

If it would be helpful i could describe the problem with some screenshots. Would you like this, or is this unnecessary?

I using the IE 6 in different versions but all are running on an WinXp SP2.

I've tried some more values to set in this "Insert/Modify Link" window, but nothing would be set after clicking the "update" button.
The only thing that works is setting an other destination for the link.

The values can be set while creating a new link, an update seems to be impossible. As a workaround i could fill all the information while i'm create the link, but when i want to change something i have to recreate the link.

You report everything except the requested information: the version of the RTE.

I am not able to reproduce this problem.

Do you have the problem only for the title attribute?

Do you have the problem for all types of links?

Hi Stanislas,

I am running TYPO3 4.0rc3 with rtehtmlarea 1.3.6 on a gentoo server. My desktop at home is Windows 2000 where the problem is reproducable as well.

RTE is configured with demo currently, whith some additional TS-Config:

RTE.default.enableWordClean = 0

RTE.default.proc.allowTags = a, abbr, acronym, address, blockquote, b, br, caption, cite, code, dfn, dl, dt, dd, div, em, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, hr, i, img, kbd, li, link, ol, p, pre, q, sdfield, span, strong, sub, sup, table, thead, tbody, tfoot, td, th, tr, tt, ul, var
RTE.default.proc.entryHTMLparser_db.allowTags < RTE.default.proc.allowTags

RTE.default.proc {
dontHSC_rte = 1
dontUndoHSC_db = 1
}

After clearing all browser cache, the behaviour under IE is as follows:

- File and email links work fine, no problem there.

- External links and Page links behave like this
My actions: right click on link, choose modify link, edit the title field, press set link.
IE: closes the window, but apparently nothing else, because, when I switch to html-view, absolutely nothing has been changed. The browser does not even complain about a JS error.

I then tried to modify the target attribute by inserting some dummy target foo, again, no changes in the html-code, no JS error. I tried to change from external link to external link in new window: no effect. I tried the other options, but apart from the url itself, my changes do not have any effect.

I hope, this helps clarifying the situation.

Ciao Uschi

i've tried the RC3 now an the link problem doesn't exist anymore, that means i could change the link, but i can't change the values like "title" or something else.

Do you have the problem only when the link is on an image?

Actions #18

Updated by Stanislas Rolland over 18 years ago

I think I now understand this ssue now. There are two problems.

One is with the link on an image that does not work in IE.

The other is that if you just put your cursor in a link in IE, the Modify link window may open, but will not update the link.

Please confirm that this is an adequate description of the issue.

Fixed in TYPO3core CVS, branch HEAD and in TER version 1.4.0.
