I believe that this patch breaks htmlArea RTE in older versions of Mozilla such as Firefox 1.5 and Mozilla 1.7.

Well, apparently, not only this patch. The problem occurs whenever the RTE is in an hidden tab.

The problem would occur whenever the RTE gets behind an hidden tab in Firefox 1.5 and Mozilla 1.7 due to a browser bug.

Fixed. See #18322.
