Description
no matter what property I change for alink (_top, _self, _blank) or even if I change the html of the link, the link opens in a new window all the time, whereas I would like it to open in the current window.

I cannot reproduce this issue. I can only imagine that this a configuration issue. Please get support in one of the TYPO3 mailing lists:
