Description

I'm struggling with this problem for some days now, and had no luck in finding any similar problem report or anyone else confirming it, although it is highly visible. So I'm hoping that this is indeed a bug

I have a backend user belonging to a backend group. I want this user to be able to set the FE group access rights for content elements or pages (which group may access a content element or a page, set in "General Options" of content element or in "Access" Tab of page properties).

I am unable to do this. Whatever I tried, the available items in the select list are always "Hide at login" and "Show at any login". The list below "___Usergroups___" is always empty. Only if I check the "Admin (!)" checkbox for the user, the FE usergroups are shown.

I even went to the Access List tab of the BE group and selected all the
available options, with no success

Can anyone confirm this?

I use typo3 4.2.6 on PHP 5.2. I have installed the following extensions

I managed to solve this issue by accident.

The groups did not show up because the sysfolder of the FE groups was
not readable by the BE group of my editors.

I just needed to give "show page" to "everybody", and my problem was
solved.
