Error message in EM when using Retrieve/Update

Description
When trying to get a list of the current ter (import->retrieve/update),
typo3 4.2.10 shows correctly: "timeout max exec time exceeded..."
while typo3 4.3.0 shows:
"No updates available
The extension list has not changed remotely, it has thus not been fetched."
ext manager -> import -> retrieve/update and somehow disable dl's from the box...

What is the exact wording of the message in 4.2.10?

Christopher: it's the php timeout message
please read the error document how to setup error logging and output which is needed for these outputs.

that document helped alot with understanding the news in error debugging.
you may close this, and instead add that info to the wiki entry of typo3 4.3.0;)
