Upon reaching stage 4, the following is seen:

IE8, FF3.5 and Opera11 all redered the same.
Instructions were followed as per the documentation and permissions were set correctly before initiating the installation.
The display is a 1024x600 unit, used on the Samsung Q1 Ultra.
Whilst I assume there is no requirement to support short-height displays, it would not be too difficult to fix this should the installer be revisted.

This issue is indirectly fixed in new installer of 6.2. If it still exists in older typo3 versions, it is very unlikely to still be fixed ... if anyone still wants to work on that: feel free to re-open the issue.
