Description

Hi All,

Just got moved from bugs.typo3 to here.
This was my issue i've submitted there

"I'm having a big-time issue. On one of my sites i can't login with more then one user at a time. If another user logs-in the loggen-in one gets kicked out of the back-end...
I'm running version 4.5.3, did an update from 4.5.2 and the issue still remains. The funny thing is that multiple sites on the same server are having this issue... Really anoying if you have to get some work done. But is it the installatin of TYPO or can it be the server or the PH install on the server? - Anyone knows what this can be?"

Some moderator closed the subject and moved it here. Also he gave a real silly answer... "for your problem: the login is bind to the session = browser. so use a different browser for a different user. this won't change in future" uhh, is it just me or... What when i want 10 logged in users, or in a matter of fact a 100 (intranet/big company/whatever)..

Someone also asked if it could be the directory where PHP stores the sessions, (I think it's a session problem). This /tmp directory exists and is fully writable (777 for testing purpose).

Also i've tested it with php.ini's from servers where it does function correctly.

Thanks already guy's really bugging me out this issue.

Greetz!

This duplicates #M18195.

You write much, but nonetheless your description does not make clear, what exactly the problem is.
Georg obviously thought that you try to log in several users with one and the same installation of a browser. To me your bug report does not directly make that clear. What you write can also be understood as that the problem is that you can only log in one user per TYPO3 installation at a time (especially the part about a big company with hundreds of users).

Did Georg get you wrong?

Thanks for the reply, and yes i do write much, sorry about that..

The main problem is that i/we can't login with more then one user at a time, if one users is logged in and anotherone logs in (from a different browser/pc/network/location) the previous logged in user gets kicked out.

So i think Georg got me wrong :)

Well, interesting problem. I never heard about something like that before.

You have the issue with 4.5.2 and 4.5.3.
  • Did this work correctly some time ago?
  • What changed when it got broken?
    • Did you use another (older) version of TYPO3 before where this did not happen?
    • Did you install an extension? My guess would be that this is caused by some custom extension.

First the problem occured in a 4.5.2 install so we did a upgrade to 4.5.3 but the problem still remains.
All of the other sites we're using typo3 for don't have this problem, it's just one server. So by this i guess it's a server config issue. Maybe de /temp dir, session storage or just the PHP config, replaced the php,ini from a server without the issue (they're practically the same)
I'm using extensions that i also use on the sites where the problem is not occurring, so I dont think this is whats causing the issue...

That's not a bug but a support question, which you should ask in mailing lists. Please, do that.

I am closing this bug report because it seems to be a local problem, which nobody else has. Bug tracker is for bugs: something when we have a problem in the system, not at a single web site.

If it is confirmed as a bug, we can always reopen the report. But until that, ask in the mailing lists, please.
