FAL fails to copy value of default language

Description

Situation:
We have a multi-lingual one-tree setup and copy an textpic CE from standard language (german) to sys_language_uid = 1 (english).
Copying the CE with images works fine, but no Links, Title and Alternative Texts are rendered in the english frontend.

As shown like in the attached image the Links should be copied from the default language if the field is empty in the translation.

When I enter an ID/Link into the link-field it is rendered as expected.
Is the hint here wrong or the handling at all?
