Sorry to close this issue, the extension rtehtmlarea was removed from the core and is now located at https://github.com/FriendsOfTYPO3/rtehtmlarea - please report any issues concerning rtehtmlarea there.

This issue has been already reported https://github.com/FriendsOfTYPO3/rtehtmlarea/issues/26 and if I have not understood it wrong, already fixed.
